Golden light through airplane cabin window at 38,000 feet

About Us

Founder Story

I learned this at 38,000 feet.

For years I worked as cabin crew with Etihad Airways, which meant I spent my working life in some of the driest air on earth. An aircraft cabin is drier than most deserts.

I watched what it did to my skin, flight after flight. Tightness by the second service. Makeup catching on dry patches. Fine lines arriving earlier than they should have.

So I did what most of us do. I spent more. Facials I could not really justify, serums that promised a great deal, a bathroom shelf that kept filling up. Every one of them worked on the outside of my skin, and every one of them faded within days.

Then I settled in Dubai and realised I had never really left the cabin.

Nine months of the year, the air here does the same thing. Desert sun outside, air conditioning every hour you are inside, at home, in the car, at the office, at the mall. My skin was not failing. It was being quietly worked on, all day, by the air I lived in.

You were never using the wrong cream.
You were only working on the wrong side of your skin.

What I wanted Lovu to be

I did not want to add another jar to anyone's shelf. I wanted the one thing that shelf was missing, and I wanted it built on three rules I refuse to bend.

Every dose printed

200mg of L-Glutathione. 1,000mcg of biotin. 50mcg of vitamin D. No proprietary blends, nothing hidden behind the word "complex". If it is in the jar, the number is on the label.

Built for this climate

Not adapted for it. The vitamin D is in there because of how we actually live here: indoors, covered, and air conditioned, in one of the sunniest countries on earth.

Honest about time

Nails are usually first, around weeks four to six. Hair takes roughly eight weeks. Skin is the slowest, eight to twelve. Anyone promising a new face in seven days is not being straight with you.

What is actually in it

Fourteen active ingredients in two strawberry gummies. Vitamin C, which contributes to normal collagen formation. Zinc, which contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, hair and nails. Alongside them: biotin, vitamin D, vitamin E, the B vitamins, omega-3, and the amino acids your body uses to build its own collagen, glycine, glutamic acid and L-glutathione.

Set with pectin, from fruit, never gelatin. The vitamin D is ergocalciferol, plant-derived, where most supplements use a form taken from sheep's wool or fish. Sweetened with xylitol, so a serving carries no added sugar. Every batch is made to a Certificate of Composition that lists every ingredient and every quantity in it.

What we will never say

We will not tell you this contains collagen, because it does not. Collagen is an animal protein, so a vegan product cannot contain it. Anyone selling you "vegan collagen" is selling you the building blocks, and we would rather say that out loud than let you assume otherwise.

We will not promise you a result in a week, and we will not tell you your skin is a problem that needs fixing. It is not. It is doing its job in a climate that asks a lot of it.

What we will do is print every dose on the label, tell you honestly how long it takes, and let you pay cash on delivery, so it costs you nothing to find out whether it works for you.

Lovu is everything I learned, in one strawberry gummy.
